My wife an I been coming to Jekyll Island for the past 12 years or so. We really love it there, the peace and quiet you feel, the things you can do there. You can walk the beach, tour the old historic district, fish and just relax. Thats why I would reccomend Jekyll to friends and family.

I have been to Jekyll Island three times. I think it is the most wonderful vacation spot in the world. It is true what they say, “that once your feet have touch the sand, you will always want to come back.” Jekyll Island is such a calm island. It’s not an over populated beach. You can walk and walk the beach and just be so relaxed. I love it there. I am planning another trip for summer 2009. I think everyone should go there atleast once in their life.

My husband and I went to Jekyll Island for a weekend in late February of 2007 and fell in love with the island. We returned this past June with part of our family and got to see more of the island. We especially love riding our bikes on the island’s trails, which is a great way to enjoy all the beauty. This trip we also got to play at the SummerWaves water park, swim in the ocean and watch the sunrise on Driftwood Beach. We also enjoyed biking on nearby St. Simon’s Island and climbing the lighthouse there. The island is all the video shows and much more!

My family visited Jekyll Island many years ago, when our boys were little. This was such a lovely little video that made me remember how very lovely this spot still is. I wish I could return ….soon!

I have been going to jekyll Island for 10 years. It has to be the best vacation spot around, I go every year in april and rent a house for the week, I now take my 3 grandchildren with me, I purchased a brick with thier names on it at the turtle museum, they were so happy the first time they saw it there. the island is the best for biking or just relaxing, my husbands favorite eating place is the cafe salero and we all the candy store in the row of old shops. the historic section has the most beautiful buildings that have been restored, take your breath away and the beaches are the best and no-one around, no matter when you go, sunrise every mourning over the ocean and sunset every night at the pier and the dolphins come everynight to the sunset as well.I drive from N.Y. every year for a week and don’t mind the trip at all because I know whats waiting for me.

I first experienced the Jekyll Island majic back in 1986 when I was stationed in Sav’h. I immediately fell in love with the beauty, landscape, legend, and the people. I have often returned through the years and brought my two children and they too love it.
My wife visited Jekyll back in the late 90′s, studying the barrier islands while earning her geology degree.
When we decided to get married, it was a no-brainer as to where the ceremony would take place. We were married this past Feb 16, 2008, on driftwood Beach. The weather, the climate, and the sea were all perfect for the ceromony. If ever there was a fairy-tale wedding, WE HAD IT!
The history and culture of the island is wonderful.
We were accomodated at the Jekyll Island Resort, (Old Rockefeller Mansion)where we were treated as royalty and every staff member recognized us as “the newly weds”.
We are currently making reservations for Labor Day and plan to visit on every anniversary.
This place is wonderful and our children love it, as it has plenty of activities for them. (Their ages are 17, 15, 10,and 6. If there is a true paradise,Jekyll is it.

  7. I’ve been to Jekyll Island a number of times since my first visit as a 12 year old, in 1964. I love Jekyll! So many memories of quiet, peaceful walks on the shore, watching the sea life, the smell of salt-sea-air, the rhythm of the waves and the sunsets! All of this was so new to me then. Jekyll provided me my very first sight of the Ocean. My wife and I visited just last fall; our first time back in a few years. We were pleasantly surprised to see Jekyll carrying much of the same peaceful atmosphere as it did all those many years before. Jekyll was also our honeymoon destination and the first vacation our 12 day old son enjoyed the next year. Yet, the modernization of many parts of the Island were so in-tune with the natural beauty that make Jekyll so special. Please, keep Jekyll the gem of the Golden Isles.

  8. Kate says:

Jekyll holds great memories for me and promises to furnish more. Two of my three daughters were married at the Jekyll Island Club and both (although very different weddings) were marvelous! Guests sent emails for weeks after thanking us for an opportunity to be in such a special place and the staff (especially the wedding liason) was extraordinary.
Since I live close by, I visit often and can’t say enough about their walking/bike trail along the beach! I love to push my grandson’s stroller from one of the many beach parking lots along the beach trail to the superb playground across the street and back.
    Jekyll is a treasure!

I have been going to Jekyll Island for at least 14 years. Our wonderful friends have been going more than 20 years and they are the ones who introduced us to the breath taking Island. We go every 6 months and can’t get enough of it. We will again touch the sands of Jekyll Island in September and can not wait to see all the beauty. It is the most relaxing place I have ever been. Please keep Kekyll the quant little Island we all love so much.

  10. Jessica Leggett says:

Last summer my kids wanted to go camping. That was our first visit to Jekyll, and we’re hooked. No other beach exsists now to them but Jekyll. We have rented a house this year and will be spending a week there in September. It’s true that once you touch the sand there you will always want to go back. I love that the island remains in a relaxed state, and the commercialism that has taken over other beaches can’t touch Jekyll. It is the best, most relaxing vacation you could ever have!

  11. Sandra Meyer says:

My husband and I Love Jekyll Island. I have been vacationing there almost every year for over 25 years. We come in both Winter and in summer. I became engaged on the Island also. Please keep it the same . When we go elsewhere in the Florida area we always stop by our home away from home. Even if just to grab a bite and walk on the beach. Romance abounds . Thank You Georgia for your lovely Island that all whom love peace and beauty fall in Love . We even hope to retire there.

  12. Roberta Miller says:

My parents (both have passed away) would always stop at Jekyll Island on their way to and from Florida every year. They turned my sister and myself on to the island. Since our parents are gone, my sister and I still make the trip every year for the past 15 years. We have also donated two bricks for the Georgia Sea Turtle Center. One in memory of our parents and one for the two of us. Thank you Jekyll Island for the wonderful memories we will also keep with us.
