After helping to educate more than 30,000 4-Hers and Jekyll Island visitors about wildlife conservation, Dylan the sea turtle moved from the Jekyll Island 4-H Center to the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta in November 2005. While there, another 4.6 million people were able to see her and learn more about conservation.

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center will host the first annual Shell-e-brate Earth Day festival on April 19th!

Join us from 12 to 4pm and have a blast participating in sea turtle games, creating recycled crafts and become a sea turtle as you run through Sinkey Boone’s Turtle Excluder Device! Jam to the bluegrass sounds of the Dirty Hairys, enter to win eco-tastic raffle items, peruse our exhibitor’s expo featuring earth friendly vendors, artisans and local organizations and much, much more!

Shell-e-brate Earth Day is already casting anticipation and enthusiasm upon the staff and volunteers as we prepare to make this green event a shell-e-bration to remember.

You won’t want to miss it! This event is free with general admission:
