Watch your turtles GO! in support of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island! Here�s a different spin on the traditional rubber duck race - a rubber turtle race down Turtle Creek, sound like great fun for the whole family. Get your turtles at the Jekyll Island Welcome Center or Summer Waves for $2 (proceeds go to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center). The Turtle Race starts at 3 p.m. More information at 912-635-2074

Are you afraid of deep, dark waters? If not, get a chill and cool off with this combo. How about Diving in and watching the movie JAWS at Summer Waves on Jekyll Island. This much anticipated facility will provide state-of-the-art emergency care to sick and injured sea turtles, with opportunities for scientific research and long-term treatment. Visitors to the Georgia Sea Turtle Center will explore exhibits on sea turtle conservation, rehabilitation, and their amazing journey from egg to adulthood. School field trips, public programs, and special events will highlight Georgia’s unique coastal ecosystem and the mysterious world of these ancient reptiles.

I came across this video, and if this doesn’t get you excited about the opening of the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island, I’m not sure anything will!

The facility is looking great, this will be a tremendous attraction for us on Jekyll Island, I bet we do 150,000 guests this summer!
