The Jekyll Island Authority not only embraces open government, we also have complied with the Open Records Act and have our records open to the public contrary to the suggestion of Babs McDonald.

Ms. McDonald was given access to the records she was seeking, which was described as the original source documents for all statistics compiled. The original source documents are all the daily reporting over the last 20 years, and exist in archives. Under the Open Records Act, we are required to provide a cost estimate to retrieve requested documents.

We are also glad to answer any question that the public may have, the purpose of getting a question submitted in writing is so that we can be as accurate and concise in the response.
